Youth exchange Leuven 2017

For all blind and visually impaired youngsters

You are blind or partially sighted between 16 and 20, a networker that loves travelling meeting new people and culture and interested in computers and new technologies ?

Then …. ICC is the place to be!!!

“Let’s imagine…

…bringing together 60 blind and partially sighted youngsters from 16 to 21 years old, originating from all over the continent. This gathering only has one purpose: to open the path to new possibilities and more independence, whether it is for their studies, work or spare time. In order to do this, they can organise workshops on accessible and assistive technology, but also concerning social skills, sports, music and much more. On the other hand, there is also time for culture and leisure time activities, creating the ideal environment to build connections and friendships beyond all borders. This is, moreover, streamlined by a team of volunteers, who are always glad to help where needed.

The 2017 youth exchange “empowering who sees less” was hosted in Leuven (Belgium). Thanks to all organizators and participants to make it a SUCCESS !

From the 23rd of July until the 1st of August 2017, located at a few kilometers from Brussels, the University of Leuven has hosted us.

The “ICC Belgium” team made this youth exchange a success story. Taking care of finding accommodation, transportation and fun leisure activities, the Belgian team relied on its dedicated volunteers to go the extra miles to ensure that the participants live an extraordinary adventure. The youth exchange “empowering who sees less” is a very special opportunity to find out how Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Assistive Technologies enrich the life of blind and partially sighted people.

Students from many European countries have enjoyed plenty of intercultural activities, communication and networking, planning for future studying and job integration, fun and leisure time activities.
